Studio Hebrides aims to create intelligent architecture that responds to its place.

Situated on the Isle of North Uist, the practice takes its inspiration from the unique landscape to produce high quality buildings that are sensitive to their rural surroundings.

A fresh approach is taken to each project and Studio Hebrides aims to create innovative, sustainable and cost effective design solutions that meet the needs of our Clients.

Studio Hebrides is run by Mhairi and Steven Dobbie, ARB registered Architects with a combined, varied experience in private and public sector architectural work.

They studied Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art and since graduating worked on a variety of projects including schools, listed buildings, care homes and residential projects of varying scale.

Mhairi has managed a multi-disciplinary team within the Western Isles and project managed a number of large scale community projects in the area.  Steven has substantial experience in large and small scale residential design and construction throughout the UK.

Inspired by the Hebridean landscape, and the ever changing colours and  textures within it, Studio Hebrides thrives on translating this into architecture using traditional and modern materials.  

Studio Hebrides aims to create a timeless environment, connecting buildings to the natural surroundings of the Hebrides.
